Sleeping Beauty Turquoise is one of the most sought after turqouises in the world because of its robin's egg colour and relative lack of matrix.
It is named after the copper mine in Glebe, Arizone, resembling a women sleeping on her back, that closed in 2012. Today, this turquoise is only available in small quantities and mainly used by native silversmith to create jewelry with cabochons. As there are no plans to reopen the mine, Sleeping Beauty turquouse is as rare as it is precious.
The stones are cut as 6mm heishi beads showing flashes of pyrite and copper, sourced directly from my US supplier. It is finished with a heavy sterling silver bolt clasp . The length is 41 cm.
This necklace will give you years of joy wearing it.
